1 small free range whole chicken
2 sweet potatoes
1 mug brown rice
1 mug mixed frozen veg
1 litre chicken stock
Roast the chicken and sweet potatoes in the oven for around 1 hour at 180 or gas mark 5. My oven is fan assisted so just adjust the timings as per your own oven.
Boil the rice and frozen veg in the chicken stock for roughly 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked through and has absorbed all the liquid.
When ready, allow the chicken to cool and then strip half – skin included, chop and mix through the rice and veg.
Allow everything to cool to room temp and then serve to your dog.
This makes 4-6 portions depending on the size of your dog and will keep for 3-5 days in the fridge.
NB – remember to keep the juices from the chicken to make into stock for your dog’s next dinner!
