Holistic Therapy and Essential Oils
What is Holistic Therapy?
Holistic Therapy aims to treat the patient as a whole, rather than individual symptoms.
It is the treatment of the mind, body, spirit and emotions.
In doing this we regain the physical and energy balances within the body
Dogs respond well to holistic therapies such as Reiki and Massage as they are gentle non- invasive practices.
As dogs are tactile animals, they enjoy the sensation of touch and being spoken to gently during treatment.
As many dogs can develop a fear of the Vet, where possible and necessary alternative therapies can be used for treatment to reduce anxiety.
Why are Essential Oils beneficial?
Essential oils are nature’s medicine and have been used for millennia in treating the sick.
Extracted correctly from the plant source, they are 100% natural and safe to use on dogs.
It is important to use only 100% natural therapeutic grade oils, as essences and synthetic oils contain additives which may cause harm.
Many oils have their own specific healing properties, which is why they are used in alternative medicines and therapies.
It is important to note that not all oils can be safely used around dogs and only certain quantities are safe, therefore it is vital to seek the help and advice of a qualified practitioner
I would like to thank Lisa McCabe for coming along to Eastwood Rotary club to talk about Stardust Doggy Care.
Lisa introduced herself and her topic by outlining her own background as a qualified aromatherapist and professional dog walker who had retrained in animal psychology and canine behaviour.
Lisa has many products available for all her dogs and for each of their personal needs.
It was obvious how important her care of each and every single dog was to her and how passionate she is about her business.
Thank you for sharing your story about Stardust Doggy Care and coming along to Eastwood Rotary Club to tell us about your wonderful business.
Everyone enjoyed your talk Lisa and will be happy to recommend your services to others.

The Boss visited Lisa’s therapy room at Stardust Doggy Care this afternoon to try out her new Super Holistic Therapy treatment.
The combination of sound and vibrational therapy, Reiki and massage helps doggos heal from within, relax and even manage pain. Since Millie’s recent injury we think she deserves some tlc
The Boss is a stressy bessy in new situations but Lisa is used to nervous furbabies and didnt let this put her off. She chatted to her, fed her snacks and petted her til she was comfortable and even let mum stay beside her to allow her to settle better for her treatment. She has been asleep since she got home!
If you’re interested in holistic therapy or remedies for your dog Lisa has a range of products that have been lovingly created by a fellow dog mum with her boys Ziggy and Zane’s lick of approval.
As a wee bonus, Millie got to see her pals Ziggy and Zane afterward for a wee play … or was that just a bonus for me?

Reiki is a Japanese alternative medicine, which uses energy healing.
During this treatment I use hands-on healing through universal energy.
This energy is transferred through my hands to the patient to encourage emotional and physical healing.
Dogs respond well to Reiki as it is gentle and non- invasive
During this treatment a sound bowl and tuning fork will be used to provide healing sounds and sound waves for the patients.
The tuning fork and sound bowl are chosen carefully at a level which is safe for dogs, given their sensitive hearing.
Once the notes have been played the tuning fork will then be placed on to the areas of the patient’s body where they are experiencing discomfort.
It will be lightly tapped in order to products vibrational energy
The vibrational energy will then transmit through the body encouraging healing
This is an excellent treatment for any ailment as it relaxes the mind and body, encouraging it to destress and heal from within.
Dogs respond well to this treatment as it is gentle and calm, allowing them to fully relax.
